Bass Guitar, Guitar, Drums, Piano

Rolando began his training at the impressionable age of eleven and studied under local bassist Bob Marriner. Studying with Marriner, Rolando was introduced to a multitude of musical styles, as well as the expansive Simandl books. Rolando earned his BA from NYU, where he studied composition with Slovenian composer Dr. Jerica Oblak and independently with bass legends Doug Wimbish and Trevor Dunn. After graduating, Rolando spent two years in Santiago, Chile playing with many of the city’s jazz fixtures, most notably saxophonist/composer Diego Manuschevich, while performing throughout the country. He has since returned to the states and now performs regularly throughout the tri-state area with numerous jazz and rock groups. Rolando is thrilled to be a part of the AIM Family and looks forward to sharing his knowledge with students.
